South Africa's pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada has returned home from the Indian Premier League due to a lower limb soft tissue infection, confirmed by the country's cricket board on Wednesday. Rabada, who represented Punjab Kings in the IPL, secured 11 wickets in as many games. With Punjab already eliminated from the IPL playoffs, they are set to play their final league game on May 19. Cricket South Africa (CSA) stated, "The 28-year-old consulted a specialist upon arrival in South Africa and is under close observation by the CSA medical team."

CSA also assured that Rabada's injury is unlikely to hinder his preparation for the T20 World Cup in the Americas next month. "His readiness for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA is anticipated to remain unaffected," added CSA. South Africa is scheduled to kickstart their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in New York on June 3.
