NEET-UG 2024 OMR Controversy: 'Petitioner submitted forged documents,' Court dismisses plea regarding torn OMR

...

The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Ayushi Patel from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Patel had alleged that her OMR answer sheet was torn, which caused a delay in the release of her result by the National Testing Agency (NTA)

The Allahabad High Court previously ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to present Ayushi Patel’s original OMR sheet after she filed a petition claiming her result was delayed due to a torn OMR sheet. Upon inspection, the court found the OMR sheet undamaged, concluding that Patel had submitted forged documents.

The court stated, “The petitioner has submitted forged documents, and in such a situation, this court cannot stop NTA from taking legal action against the student.” Consequently, the NTA affirmed its intention to pursue legal action against Patel. However, the court accepted a request from Patel's lawyer to withdraw the petition.

Following the release of the NEET-UG 2024 results on June 4, Patel circulated a viral video on social media, alleging that her result was not declared due to a torn OMR sheet. She claimed to have received an email from the NTA, which included an image of the damaged OMR sheet.
