Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty are now richer than King Charles. This major jump or fortune surge is mainly due to Rishi Sunak's father in-law's IT firm.
As per Daily Mail UK report, Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty saw their personal fortune increase by over £120 million in the past year, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List as per Daily Mail UK report. The couple's wealth surged from £529 million in 2023 to £651 million in the latest list.
The growth in their wealth is attributed to Akshata Murty's ownership stake in Infosys, a leading Indian IT company co-founded by her billionaire father. Her shares in the company increased in value by £108.8 million, reaching nearly £590 million for the year.
As per Daily Mail UK, their wealth still falls short of its peak in 2022, when it was estimated to be around £730 million.
The Rich List also revealed an increase in the wealth of King Charles, whose fortune rose to £610 million from £600 million in the previous year.
The co-founder of Infosys, Narayana Murthy, is among the most well-known billionaires in India. According to several statistics, Infosys, a multinational IT company, made $18.2 billion (about Rs 1,51,762 crore) in global sales in 2023—a significant rise over $16.3 billion (roughly Rs 1,35,937 crore) in the year prior.
