NEW DELHI: According to a new Class-6 NCERT social science textbook, India had its own prime meridian, known as "Madhya Rekha," which passed through Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, long before the Greenwich meridian.
The revised textbook, developed according to a new curriculum, also omits mentions of caste-based discrimination, makes changes to references about B.R. Ambedkar's experiences with discrimination, and refers to the Harappan civilization as "Sindhu-Sarasvati."
